That is interesting. I think the flywheel could be an issue (not sure though). Will the flywheel form the 4g15 bolt up to the 4g63?

The tranny will bolt up, you just have to use the right flywheel. I strongly suggest NOT doing it though. You'll be replacing clutches every time you even think about going WOT. The clutch you'll have to use will barely be able to handle a non-turbo 63, if you're turbo don't even waste the time because it will go up in smoke the first time it sees more than 5psi of boost. F5m33 (dsm 5 spd) transmissions are cheap and easy to come by. Using one allows you use the equal length axle setup as well.

is the 4g63 turbo? if so its useless to use a 1.5 trans..

reason is.. 1.5 makes what 80 hp max? 4g63t even stock boost was 190ish hp. it would be worth the time to source out a 63t trans.. do it right the first time.. less problems and saves u money in the end.

no its not turbo. and the 1.5 pushes 92 so its only like 30-35 more hp. But yea I will be looking for a tranny before I do the swap.. no need to fry a clutch when I don't have to.. lol

92 brand new lol.... I would be more concerned with breaking the trans than a clutch.. cause by time u spend money to get the correct flywheel and clutch setup.. if the trans breaks and u get a dsm trans.. then u might have to re buy the correct flywheel/clutch for it (not sure ive never looked into part numbers for both).. then the first parts would just sit (if there un useable with the 63)..cause I dont think anyone else will need them.

just trying to save u some money and heartache. :supz:

If you are non-turbo, there are plenty of f5m22/F5m31's out there. Good turbo trannies are hard to come by, but someone on here has two good ones for sale.

KM210's

One is in my car now, one is sitting in a cardboard box in my garage.

They are listed in my for sale thread. Any issues with them are listed there. 8)

Also I have a second question but I don't want to open a new post... If I pulled the entire wire harness out of the eclipse that the motor is coming out of. and replaced it with the one in my colt would that work because I don't want to cut into it.??

Second question in a good one for 89Mirageman. He made an adapter harness for the interior to mate up 4g63 looms with 4g15 type cars.

First question, any transmission made to take an NA 4g6X motor should be fine, a turbo trans will be that much less likely to grenade if in proper condition/lower cycles. KM206 (1.6NA Summit GS/Elantra), then KM210 (F5M31) (Colt/Mirage Turbo/Hyundai Sonata), up to F5M33 (91-92.5 only, not 93/94 unless diff is swapped to 25 splines)(FWD DSM). Just be aware that KM206 uses different axle lengths than the KM210's. So, you have to pick your axle set depending on the transmission. Keep with axles for a KM206 that fit a C60 frame (Sedan), the Elantra axles will be longer, due to the longer control arms. Just don't want you to hit a hump in the road when you get that far into it.

I still sell the adapter to mate the 1g dsm engine harness to the 3g csm dash harness. If you're swapping in a na 4G63 you'll be fine using your current transmission. Just use the na dsm flywheel and clutch.
