Okay, I wish I did not have to post this but I got stuck. This morning I found some time to change my front oil seal that has been leaking for a while. I had also bought a timing belt just to change that as well. I got everything off I could, drive belt, timing cover, ect. I could not Get the center bolt to come out of the crank pully. I tried everything I could. Is there any trick to this you guys know of, or if something has gone wrong. I'd appreciate all help, thanks guys.

-Zach

Impact gun, heat shocking to release any bond with the thread locker if any, or use a breaker bar against the ground and bump start the engine <- yup seriously!

I made a 2.5' long breaker bar, with a flat end that bolts on using the four pulley bolts. I slip the harmonic balancer off over the main bolt, then bolt the tool on in it's place.

As far as I know, that's the safest way to loosen and tighten it.

Get a better impact or do the starter trick.

I had one stuck on a 1.5 and the only way I got it out was with a quality impact wrench with the air pressure turned up past spec (~130 psi).

The crank bolt on my old engine, I soaked that bastard with pblaster 3x a day for a week. It took my 300lb brother laying on the engine (it was blown up so it was sitting on the ground) and me jumping on a 1/2'' drive socket, 12" ratchet, 3' cheater pipe before that one broke loose.

i usually jam the flywheel teeth aty the inspection cover with a prybar or screwdriver, then use a big breaker bar to crack her loose. I do honda balancer bolts this way as well. You can also use this way to re-tighten/torque the bolt back on as well. the starter trick doesnt work to re-tighten the bolt.
