Ok guys, been a while since I've posted, but I've lurked for quite a bit. Last that's been said on my part was that I had my original 4G15 spin a bearing and it wasn't worth rebuilding. I was considering going with a 4G63 N/A swap, but I didn't have the time or resources to do so. So I bought another 4G15 new from my local Autozone. Finally got the engine in after a few months of procrastination. All went well for the first week of driving it, until... The lower pulley that attaches to the timing belt came loose, snapping the accessory belt, thankfully while I was in my apartment parking lot so no valves are bent. The engine came from Autozone already timed, so I didn't think to check to see if the bolt holding in place was torqued or not. (On a side note, screw Autozone for that one as now I'm relying on friends for a ride to work till this is fixed) Well, long story short I need to re-time my engine. The timing belt didn't break, so I tried just squeezing the pulley back in place and hoping I didn't jump time. Well, I must have, cause I started my car back up and it sounds HORRIBLE, missing and sputtering everywhere. Honestly, I have never timed an engine, but I also would like to do it myself as I don't feel like paying a mechanic to do it, especially if I have the ability to learn. So, to get to the point, does anyone have a write-up on timing a 4G15 SOHC engine, or a step-by-step. Or would someone mind writing one up. I have searched for a couple hours now with minimal actual help. Any help is appreciated guys.
