Hi everyone,

Just after some educated guesses as to how much power I could expect from the following:
- 4G15 DOHC (+020)
- Heavily ported heads
- 204/204 @ 0.050 (stage 3?) cams
- Adjustable cam gears
- Twin 50mm throttle bodies
- 210cc injectors
- RPW headers, 2.5" exhaust
- Balanced.
- Ceramic coated pistons and valves / chambers
- Haltech ECU
- Intake ported and matched to head
- Exhaust port matched

That's about it.
Cheers,

Paul.

for 1 ...I never seen a 4g15 dohc..there all single

2...twin tb's?

3..why port a 1.5 head that much ( even if its possible its a waste of money)..

4 i dont think those are stage 3 cams..they seem small...

5 210 injectors are not even big enough to run a honda lol...

6..everything else on the list is a joke..waste of money..waste of time..waste of life..

do the 4g63 swap... even a NT would probably have more power (or close to) than that built 4g15.

just my opinion.

I am assuming your from AUS/NZ/Somewhere in Asia. Please put your location In your profile cause it's the rules.

With that said,
As a nice daily driver I'm sure you can achieve 130hp with bigger injectors. At 150hp without variable valve timing, I would expect the car to be loud and not very streetable. The SOHC heads from the 4g51 are really restrictive. I've always wondered what its true potential could be. Keep us updated with pics!

There was talk of dual cam heads being fitted by RPW, but big #'s and more or less not worth your time; just upgrade to the 4g61/4g61t/4g63/4g63t/4g64 setups.

Most people with enough parts can get the car to 100-120. Not much more and the stock head as mentioned is very restrictive and loves to ping because of it's design.

Just a few mods and the car will drive better, be nicer on fuel, and sound better also.

This... burning money on a 4G15 may be fun and unique, but at the end of the day, it's a serious financial error unless you're doing road racing with specific classes and displacements. A 4G63 non-turbo with an intake, headers, and exhaust would put you well into the 140s at the crank, which I think would be much more bang for your buck. You look like you're ready to dump 2-5 thousand dollars into building an engine, so why not make it one that is worthwhile financially?

Thanks for the replies.

I inherited this motor from my niece who wanted a DOHC in her lancer, but stacked the car and so
I ended up with the motor. I know it is a waste of money, but had the motor already and wanted
something to play around with. I have done all of the work myself ( except major machine work
and balancing) The twin throttle body setup only cost me around $50 (mostly for the throttle
body itself). RPW are very expensive. The cams are 272 advertised so not so small. I just had
the existing ones re-ground and shimmed the pedestalls 0.060. The minimum it likes idling at is
1100 rpm. 210 injectors will support up to 150hp @ 60psi and as this motor puts out just over
100hp stock I doubt I'll be going over that. But will keep an eye on AFR's at WOT anyway (as you
do when tuning). I was thinking 120-140hp. I don't have a car to put it in yet but am looking.
What elese came out with 4G15's besides Lancers ?? I guess the lighter the better. I could
always use it to make a kickass ride on mower :)
