 Post subject: dies out in wet or rain

got the 3g 4spd 8v 4g15 and the motor is still stock except a filter in a air line from the vaulve cover no ac or power steering
but every time it rains or i hit a puddle the car retards and begins to die until couple hours later once it drys and it keeps me from getting to work on time when it does
has anyone else had this problem if so please tell me how you solved it

You probably need to talk apart your distributor, clean the contacts carefully with 1000 grit sand paper, and put the distributor back together with a new seal or very carefully with silicone rtv.

well it is not the ditrobutor it happened again and it just died out but it wont start know before that it sounded retarted bout 2-3 rpm

I had the exact same problem. Changed the plug wires and never happened again.

+1 for jwcorn01) Yes check for cracks on the distrib cap and check the inner wires for rust. Then protect them the best you can.

I had the same problem. Turns out it was the ECU
