Both of those sensors will throw a check engine code

yup i have a check engine code:

the scenario:
after puting the key to ON position the check engine goes off after 5 seconds then start it after then cruising for about half mile the check engine goes ON again. One more thing is my idle doesn't go up during cold start but when I tested the idle switch motor manually its working fine.

i dont have my o2 sensor unplug, because i have a new down pipe w/o o2 sensor. So my check engine is always on.
Could ther be any more signs other then "Check Engine" light?

It would have other codes besides the O2 sensor code. Perhaps you should hook up the O2 sensor and then see if there's anything else in need of attention.

I have no idea where that o2 sensor is now. The down pipe does not have a hole for it to be put in.

You need to buy a hole (they're like $7.00) and weld it in. Then buy a sensor, and install it. Your car's never going to go into closed loop operation without the O2 sensor.

Probably $60 and worth every penny if you need one.

Engine cold and maybe the first minute of operation = open loop = just dumping in fuel based upon fuel map tables.
Engine warming up, after first minute of operation and when 02 sensor is hotter = closed loop = more controlled air/fuel ratio at all times but WOT when preset values are used again.
