Please I need help, I replaced my ECU because my car was running and died and it did not start again, I though it was the ecu I got it from a member in this forum, so now I took my fuel pump out and tested, it seems to start and run but my question is how do we know if it is good? do I have to tested inside the tank and check the pressure? how much has to be the PSi ? Thank you for the info.

Ivan

take off the fuel return line. Point it somewhere safe (away from any source of ignition, like spark) crank the motor, see if fuel comes out. If it does, the pump's working. If it doesn't, it's not. Note also, the mitsu does not have a "prime" function like many cars where it runs the fuel pump for a few seconds before cranking. The pump is only turned on when the ECU see's rotation (the starter has been engaged).

And if you want to see how many psi your motors getting, and you got 15-30$ go to your local auto parts place and pick up a fuel pressure guage and hook it up to the fuel rail. They usually come with instructions on the back :D
