It doesn't state the brand but those could be RPW headers. I'm getting set to carry those soon.

Wow. So if i was looking for a header for my 4g15, what can i expect to pay? 300$ easy? (ouch.) :oops:

Yeah, about $300 is a decent price for mass produced headers of decent quality. I'm always just weary of guys who don't even use a name brand when selling stuff. It doesn't even say who makes it.

Sorry to keep hassling you, dsmracer, but you said mass produced headers of decent quality. Would say, pacesetter, make headers for the 4g15? Id probably pay up to 300 for one (only because im cheap). :lol:

Pacesetter isn't a great brand in my opinion. If you're looking for quality headers you'll want something from RPW. Not sure if they'd be in your budget though. I won't know till I get my pricing lists from them this week.

They certainly dont look like the quality of 4G15 headers that I would expect from RPW. Plus Im pretty sure RPW only sell 4-1 extractors and not 4-2-1 style like those for the 4G15. IMO they look like those would be cr@p.

There are heaps of manufacturers around that will knock up a set of so called extractors that actually do nothing for performance except provide the new owner with a placebo. Also, given that the standard 4-2-1 exhaust manifolding on the stock 4G15 (which works quite well for a stock motor) you'd have to wonder why you would put another 4-2-1 setup in its place.

BTW - anyone considering getting a set of high quality extractors should certainly consider getting them ceramic coated which adds to the price but is well worth it both for longevity and added performance.

The guys at RPW do make a set of 4-2-1 headers for the 4g15

So are you saying it almost wouldn't be worth my while performance wise to put some RPW 4-2-1 headers in place of my stock ones when upgrading to a 2" cat-back exhaust? I had planned to throw them into the mix and do it all at once. Comments?

No, go for the 4-1 "race" style extractors pictured here:

Note the long primaries which extend under the sump.

They also market a "street" version with shorter primaries:

Beserko, it may be that RPW can source 4-2-1 style extractors but they certainly dont promote them and I cant find reference to them on their web site nor has Dave (from RPW) mentioned them to me when Ive been down there or on the phone - I have asked before. :-?

Well just from the timing belt stand point 8v = no interference 12v = interference I can say with 100% certainty.
