Neat idea but flawed in nature. Think of how fast the exhaust spools the turbine. Now think of how fast a drive off the engine would go.
It _could_ work if you worked out some sort of system to take the drive off the pully and gear it up to get the RPM range you want.
Or I could be talking out my ass...
