KYB shocks are available.
Springs are not.
I cut my springs all around by two coils=1.5inch drop.
and then you get a bit of a rough ride.

Hello, just joined this site and it's very informational.
I just wanted to let you know on the subject of springs what I did.
I got a 87 3 door hatch turbo.
KYB shocks up front with 91 celica springs(fronts):
I cut 2 coils off the bottom for the drop, but the springs are alot stiffer
than stock. It gives a great ride in this combo. it lowered about 1.5 inches
When you cut the coils they fit well on the spring mount of the shocks.
My rear is just chopped stock with monroe shocks that came with the car.
The rear shocks rubbed my tires a bit, but just pounded the upper shock
cover sleeve to not rub. I ran 16x7 rims on my car.
I'll switch with Tokicos that I got at the pick and pull later.
hope this helps.

Thanx 87Mirage, so you got celica springs for the front and you cut them. You cut your own spring for the back, would the celica rear springs work as well or no?

No prob Slegato,I was only able to match up the fronts at the time.
The rear springs didn't fit.
I did just cut my rear stock springs, I don't usually carry passengers
in the rear so there is no problem on the compression rate at this point.
The handling was greatly improved when I did the front. I'll still be looking
for a match for the rears eventually. One thing though, when I got the
KYB GR-2's for my 87 turbo. The front stock springs were too wide at
the base to fit the shock perches(KYB), which would have sucked.
Luckily I had the celica springs sitting around the garage when I lowered
my friends car. Cut them and they fit well. So it was pure luck and
works well. (91 Celica basic ST model)

Good luck on trying this out. Hope it helps.

I was gonna take the car for solo 1 racing but without decent springs I dont really want to take the car. Shine racing does custom coil springs any rate one desires so I may order a set from them for racing. They are I think US$55-60 bucks each.

I did take my car out for an autocross by NASA and the front end handled very well and gave me very good input to adjust my driving. But with the cut rears, the rear end was all over the place. Let me know how it goes
with the custom springs and what compression they are. Have fun
auto crossing.

you might have to get spacers for rims, and really skinny tires.

the original rim size is 14 x 5.5 with 185 60 14.
