| Post subject: | 1984 Twin Stick adjustments? |
Hello and thanks in advance for any help. My '84 GTS w/Twin Stick won't go in to Economy/high gear. Are there any adjustments that can be made? It seems like the shift lever isn't pulling back as far as it should to fully engage the high gear. Power/low 1st-4th and reverse work fine. Thanks, Karl |

All the shifter does is pull a cable attached to a lever on the trans. Disconect the cable from the tranmission and manually move the lever to see if high range will engage. It should clunk in place. I wouldn't be surprised if the cable is frozen up. Also it is very common for the nut on the end of input shaft to come loose causing no high range. Do you hear any grinding noise when you you shift it ? |

Also, if memory serves me well enough, one of the ranges or high gears operates off a vacuum valve. |
