Post subject:  Wiring diagrams - required urgently

I urgently require the wiring diagrams for the engine and instrument panel on a 1987 Mitsubishi Colt turbo, I am planning on changing the engine into a Proton for racing on the 11th of May! Don't have much time left!

For those of you wondering what I'm doing with the Colt, it's getting a 4G63 engine, whatever version I get my hands on first.

hmm, saw one like that today! Get those bumpers sorted, easy to do. Take them off (remove front indicators to get to those bolts) and sort out the seams with some sort of antirust primer. This is commen fault, I did my front when I hit something.

My colt's front bumper is going on it, as well as a Proton bodykit I found in a local scrappies :-)

If thats the same bodykit I have, they're very rare. You have to make sure it's the same, you can't use the Aeroback bodykit on the Saloon, and vice versa. At least the back section is wrong.

It's a saloon. Just having a look at the exhaust system, I don't think I can use the one that's on the Colt, it's unusual -it's the pipe AFTER the back box that is longer, instead of any of the sections of the exhaust system itself. I'll need a new back box :-(

You mean, the Colts exhaust system is longer than the Proton Saloon then? I thought the Proton would be much longer, not getting a full stainless? Guess it's a bit overkill, depends on what you do to rest of the car.

The Proton saloon's is longer, but not by much. It all fits right up to the mounts for the back box, but the pipe after the back box is longer on the Proton - usually the system's extra length of pipe is somewhere else in the system, like on a Rover 200/400.

I have a full stainless system on the colt, it's going on the Proton along with the engine.

Hi,

yeah, i see what you mean, they have quite long pipes after the back box. Don't know if thats good or bad.

Anyway, get behind the grille and you will see a Stanley light bulb holder, behind the logo. Melt out the circle there with a soldering iron, and add a light bulb and holder. Looks great :) Why they are designed like this I don't know. I'm going to hook mine to my headlights or side lights circuit.
