Hey guys I am new to the forum and I am in sort of an emergency. My poor vista has a grenaded km182 transmission and I need to get something else in there quick. Is there anything anyone knows of that would bolt up relatively easily? I think the mitsubishi expo transmission might work with a 1992 awd vista but im not sure about a 1991. the expo is a w5m33. The transmission in the Colt vista is a km182. ANY information would be greatly helpful

what engine is in your vista? Also what's your location?

C12/13 Eagle Vista where sold in Canada AFAIK. As far as a replacement, if you car comes with a 4g15, anything with a 4g15 should work, hyundia or Mistubishi. If my guess is correct and you are talking about a c12/13 car then the wagon/van awd tranimssion will not work; I think a km201 would be OK, I'd get the axles too just to be safe.

I guess this is not a C12/13 car? Are we talking about a summit wagon? Do you have the chassis code? I need more information to try and help you out.

Is it one of these? (LRV)

OR, the 5 door 5/7 seater? (Chariot/EXPO/Colt Vista, Eagle Vista Wagon)

dodge colt vista wagon AWD like the last two pictures. I found a used tranny for 450. My only hangup is, the engine has about 124k on it and leaking a little, and i havent exactly heard great remarks about the stock 2L in these things. For all i know i could dump all this money into the tranny and then the engine could go....

yup that is a good chuck of change for that transmission. As for the engine, it's always a gamble and could go either way. It depends on how much you like the vehicle and how dependable you feel it is. The leak can most likely be fixed when you pull the transmission.

I'm in the same boat with my little sedan, its running OK now but has low oil pressure. I don't think I'll be sinking too much more $ into as it has over 300K KM's on it.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

thanks for the input guys. I really do LOVE this car, the body is straight as an arrow and water tight. I had just purchased brand new studded tires for this thing and never even got to drive it in the snow

I regret to say but i think this little baby is going to the junk yard..... sometimes you just have to know when to cut your losses, a poor college kid is just not the right person for this car right now.

Put you location in your profile and take some pictures and put it up in the F/S section. Someone might take it off you hands if the shell is still nice.
