cool, its been almost two years exactly since last post. car is still stock, with a burnt valve. just brought her home again after two years of sitting, im still on the fence of repairing the burnt valve. i have an extra 4g63t here i dont know why i just dont swap it
but- it has decent power with 3 cylinders, itll probsbly rip with all four working. would be easy to fix
i just love how pathetic it is, and i love that old car smell
but
it would be pretty fun at the track too

Wonder how the carb is working because you usually burn a valve with too much heat.

the reason the valve was burnt was nobody ever set the clearance before. lash was too tight. i bought a 93 colt that was running on 3 that did exaxt same thing. i set clearance and it ran perfect, and the fix held permanent. this car i set it, it will run on four for just a little while, then go back to three shortly after. i set it a few times, thinking its been like that a longvtime, maybe carbon buildup in there.
i think its somewhat running on four, cause it goes pretty good, it will do over 80 mph.

it is of no matter, cause im tearing into it right away here, going to 4g63t, keep the stock auto, see how that works
i dont mind doing the build in stages like that. get the engine stuff done, if that tranny doesnt hold the extra power, i have a pretty good hoard of trannys here.

took her to the weigh scale
1930 lbs. 1/4 tank bone stock, spare, some junk in it.
about 150-200 lbs lighter than a 4g colt.
