Ok so I found it. A 6 bolt 4g63t from a 91 laser. It needs to be rebuilt, but the block is good, and so is the head. I spent 6 hours today with my girl frind, (who by the way was awesome) pulling a motor from a rolled car. The cam gears were both busted from the roll over so I had to check every part of the motor befor bringing it home. Well all is good. This is going to be a rushed buid so I will be taking a lot of pics along the way. Thanks ahead of time to everyone for your help and knowlage.

With a lot of crap on my head about this swap I ask, wiring? I was thinking about taking the wire harness from the laser I got the motor from, along with the ecu pin out, and a diagram of the whole thing, along with a diagram of the colt, and just grafting the 2 together. I'm hoping it will make life much easyer when wiring the whole car up. Any thoughts.

The ECu has nothing to do with the gauges,,, for the gauges the wiring is routed different,, the only gauge that works with the ECU is the turbo gauge

Ok now that I'm pulling more and more out I'm finding that to be more true. There's basicly 2 sepret harnesses then, there are a few things that ran through my body harness on the colt like the o2 sensor but that no longer looks to be an issue. I guess I was stressed for no reason. Well another question, does anyone know what the stock clearinces for this motor are, like the cylinders, the crank. I talked to a budy of mine who runs a shop and he said that if there is no sighns of wear and the cylinders and the crank are withen the oe clearences then I could getaway with just a hone on my block instead of a bore. What does every one think. Oh and sorry about the spelling, my week point... thanks, benjamin

If your mirage has a manual tranny no need to do anything, if your mirage came with automatic tranny you will need a pedal bundle form another 88
Or 89-92, also de clutch pump

i dont,my car was cable only no hydro. i need to add a hydro clutch. i dont know if the 88 turbo colts had a hydro clutch or not. my 88 is not a turbo colt it was a 1.5 with a 4 speed. i had a 86 sedan turbo that had some real body and chasy issues so i swapped it all in. i had it for the most part done, drove it around the block a few times it worked well. but i had money, and time so now i want more.... thats why the swap. but i need the hydro clutch, how do i do it cheap. or can i use the turbo non hydro tranny i have from a 88... if it will work id like be willing to do that now. save a little money till i go back to work...
