Okay so if you have a title with weight on it post up. I can get a good idea from that.

My 88 manual states 1950 for a hatch and 2100 for a sedan. Those are approximations but can get the real # if you want. The 86 should be pretty similar to an 88.

If you can get real numbers that would be great. printed numbers always seem to be much lower than real weight. If manufacture says car weighs 2500lbs, it will be over 2700. this applies to vehicle weight listed on titles well. I dont know why they are so far off, usually 200lbs. Fluids only weigh around 100lbs. cant figure out where the other 100 loss comes from.

from that I would guess the turbo model is the heaviest at 2170 (h model)
actual weight would be 2370 ish with fluids.

by the time DOHC, 2.0, bigger turbo, etc is added it will likley be at 2450. not looking like these cars are much lighter than 89 turbo was. amybe only 100lbs. my 89 bone stock was 2550. with bumper supports, door supports, spare, and light wheels it came in at 2450

the lightest car to start project with is still the 93-96 2 door coupe. I have weighed two at the dump. a base 1.5 with a/c but no PS at 2150, and LS model with 1.8 was 2350.

I've always heard Excels are the lightest of the light. Don't know any exact weights though.
