I lowered my '86 Colt turbo by cutting original springs as I couldn't find any upgraded springs anywhere. This hasn't really done much for the car as it is still swaying on cornering and it doesn't feel very safe!!
Anybody got any help on which springs I can use? Will the newer '89 colt springs fit or hyundai scoupe springs or what other's will work???
I need to get some soon as I'm planning on taking the car on a 400 mile round trip soon (once I get the engine running 100%) and don't want to risk it with the cut springs!! lol

Thanks

best thing to do is get new struts/shocks for both front and rear and get a pair of these

That's what I did, and they are still on the car to this day. (More than 4 years.)

unfortunately i cant post any pictures cuz i dont own the car anymore. however, it is very simple. buy two pairs, one for each side. (one pair has two clamps) I only put them on the front because I couldn't lower the back without rubbing the straight fender. (god i hated that straight fender). anyway. all you do is clamp two coils together on opposite sides of each other and you're done. I used a set of vice grips to clamp two coils together close enough to get the clamps on. You'll see what I mean when you try to put them on. BE CAREFUL, one wrong move and your vice grips turn into spring loaded weapons of mass destruction :-) Now i wouldn't go offroading with these things, but they'll bring the car down about an inch or so, and if you get the kyb gr-2 struts/shocks, makes the car much much much stiffer.
