Has anyone done removing all the vacuum hoses and just leave the ones that are necessary? Since we no longer have emission testing for this old of a vehicle, I am going to remove all of the emision related hoses. Vacuum hoses that are needed: 1) FP regulator 2) Distributor thingy Vacuum hoses that can be removed or blocked off: 1) EGR (egr will be blocked off) 2) Secondary air (valve will be removed and blocked off at the o2 housing area) 3) All hoses to and from the charcoal canister. Vapor hose will be rerouted some where else 4) Remove the charcoal canister Anything else that you would like to add? Please chime in!!! Thank you, ________________ |

yes F/P regulator and distirbutor now you also have to hook up the map and boost sensor |

Those are the only two you need. F/P and dizzy. I removed the two solenoids that are near the dizzy too. I just left them unplugged. For the evap line I just left mine open, but you can throw a filter on it. Also remove the secondary air cleaner under the TBI, dead weight. This will clean up your engine bay quite nicely. |

yea you can take those off but you have to hook up the map and the boost sensor |

ok i missed something. what year are emission tests for, does my 86 not need this stuff, i will be glad to git rid of it,also is the secondary air line included to this list. hell not only will it make things look better but should free up some lost ponys. |

youll have to check your local laws on historic vehicles you can remove everything but the F/P, dizzy, and map and boost sensors |

Ok, I just finished removing all vacuum hoses, charcoal canister and secondary air hose that runs over the exhaust manifold. Since this is a G32B engine, you can block off/remove all but two vacuum lines: 1) One vacuum line for the distributor dizzy. This line hooks directly to the first nipple on the back of the throttle body, if you face the car, there are three nipples in a row. The first nipple is on the right. 2) One for the fuel pressure regulator. This vacuum hose is about two or three inches long. It goes directly to the throttle body nipple just right under the fuel pressure regulator. As for the fuel tank vent line, I just put a small air filter at the end and mount it near the air filter. That's it. The engine looks clean and a whole lot less vacuum lines to worry about leak! To block off the exhaust hole at the O2 housing, put a quarter in the hole, cut the pipe that you removed and just use the screw end part and screw it back onto the O2 housing. Don't worry about the quarter melting, it won't. I did the same thing to my Starion for over a year and a half and it was still intact when I replaced the whole exhaust system. My stock boost gauge still works fine. I don't have an after market boost gauge. My car is bone stock so there is no need for an after market boost gauge at this time. But if I were to put one in, there are many boost sources around the throttle body to hook one up. ___________________ |

The stock boost gauge is not really a boost gauge. Its run by the ECU like on DSMs. |

ok well i know that but it has to have a sensor thats what the little black box on the wall that says boost sensor and the piece near it are

Man, I am confused now! We are talking about the G32B engine and not the 4G61T engine, right? I need to go out and check that black box thingy. Is there anyway you can take a picture of that black box? Thank you! ___________________ |
