The house burned last night. The years of work are gone. The parts collected for ten years are gone. The cars are heaps of molten metal on the garage floor. Pictures to follow....

Hi,
Thank you for all your kind words and support through this very difficult time. I have posted some pictures which were supposed to be part of my post “ A Different kind of Colt project” it was going to show, in detail, how to swap a 4g61t in a C10 chassis. Most of the parts I procured on this board. I hope you enjoy them. I will be looking for a new car to continue my project, so please keep you eye out for a 87-88 white colt turbo. I loved this car ,my wife and I bought it new…. Goodbye old friend 1987-2008

Oh man....that's just not right, and nothing you could have done to prevent it. Sorry to see your hard work go up in flames.
And you actually got a 4g61t swap done on a C10 chassis....what a shame

Being the crazy person that I am, I’m already looking for another C10 chassis to make an exact replica of the one that was destroyed in the fire. When I do I will post the build fabrication here. Thank you all for your help and advise especially miragesist and 89D15CRX. A lot of the beautiful fabrication work that you see in the photos was thanks to the legendary Super Mario at TSR fabrication in Torrance Ca. One bright side, My mint 85 CRX was not on the property at the time of the fire, thank goodness.

-John

PS Quiz: can anyone guess what this is?
Image
A A Bushur racing prepared 4g61t for the Colt
B A dynoed 350 flywheel HP engine
C A $4500.00 engine
D A worthless piece of junk
E All of the above

Note: aluminum head has completely vaporized!!
