head is cracked
cyl #2 has a hairline crack fron the intake valve to the exhaust valve... i thought it was a casting mark! this is in addition to the burnt valve.
the machine shop is gonna try to get me a new head, but his usual supplier didn't have any. he's gonna call me on monday, but he is hoping to avoid doing any weilding on the head.
anybody have one for sale?

just talked to the shop. they couldn't locate a new head, so they are repairing the old one. he said after it was all stripped down, it didn't look too bad, and i should have it back by friday. hopefully i'll be having it all reassembled by next tuesday!

Good deal. I was halfway tempted to pull the head off the '37 and send it to you post-haste. :D

that's very nice of you. :D
but that would require some boring of the block, and there's no way i'd be able to get THAT to the machine shop in the back of my lude. this is tough, do i spend money on the prelude, or do i spend it on the mirage? or do i buy an new alfa-romeo from autodeltausa.com? decisions, decisions...
while you're here, though... does the im on the 37 have the thermostat housing as part of it?

i have two spare g32b heads here, one is mine, the other is another guy's who used to come on here.

Mine is in mint shape, totally reconditioned last year, but ive never gone ahead with my g32b, i put it aside so i can play with my 4g61t c50 colt.

If interested in a head email me crocha0905@rogers.com

Good question to ask.

Nope, the '37 has it on the side of the head, meaning the IM and head would be best swapped as a whole.

I know this is late for the original poster, but I just had a G32B head with jet valves and 4 cracks repaired by Lightning Cylinder Heads of Carol Stream, Illinois .... http://lightningcylinderheads.com/. The owner has fixed lots of Mitsu heads, oddly enough mostly from fork lift trucks, as well as other brands of aluminum and steel heads
