If you look at the black badge on the passenger side of the firewall you'll get some info.

engine code = g32b, 1.6L SOHC (non jet valve?) engine.
swap info = very unsure about that year but there's the possibilty of (mostly) bolting in a 4g63 with elantra mounts
tranny strength = likelihoods are of a 'weak' twin stick, whats the tranny code on that badge?

That car is cool and looks to have been sitting for a while. What's in the gas tank, a family of squirrels? Try good gas. Also the Throttle body on these cars don't like to sit and tend to leak coolant. Did you put the starting fluid through the fuel return line? Once you tried to start was there fuel coming out of that unconnected line?

Search the site there are a few 84 colt owners on here, hopefully they will comment. Lastly, with an unlimited amount of resources any swap is possible.

Sweet another new colt owner sides me :D

Should just leave it with the original engine and trans and do a few mods. A stock colt on 9psi is pretty fast as is.

Should off the stock exhaust and 2 cats then go 2.5". Even removing the 2nd cat made abit of a difference in mine.

Now If I could leave mine stock.......... :D

Thanks for the replys guys. Can anyone tell me the tranny code? Also, if I wanted to change it out with something more common, what would it be/how? Thanks again!

Good site but probably doesn't have the twin stick version listed.
