Hey there Boosted... I stopped in again today and he is not actively selling it anymore BUT I talked to him a bit and he said that he would still sell it for 1500. That's what he was asking but he said since it was apparent no one wanted it (except me and that other dude) he was just gonna hang on to it. I took pics while there and I told him you would be giving him a call sometime soon. I PM you the number when you say so. Here are the pics I took.

It has roughly 88K miles on it. He said he's been driving since the last guy.

Hey Boosted, if you do make arrangements to buy this thing, you should swing over to my place and perhaps (you being a modded colt I assume) I could get some pointers. Such as...

When it comes to expense, is it better to buy a spring/shock aftermarket system for hundreds or better

OR

Just chop the springs and account for sag? (essentially free)

Don't cut your springs. It's just not safe, right, nor will it pass a safety inspection and with good reason.

Well here in GA, we don't really have to have safety inspections and the car being as old as it is, we don't even have to pass emissions. Well, in my county, we don't use emissions testing anyway. I understand it's not right but I was just curious. The only problem now is where do I find a good suspension set-up for the Colt.

Check all the major manufacturers for stock to fit your car.

BG, H&R, Eibach, Tein, etc, etc. If you have stock length uncompressed, and the number of turns, plus diameter of the coils, manufacturers can match springs to those specs, or even give you a drop and heavier spring rate than stock. You just have to ask the right company people it seems.

So I haven't frequented this forum nearly enough. However, I bumped my anciet thread because I don't want to have to explain what car I own.

Here is my question, seeing my car, how do I figure out the engine code?

Also, seems like it's pretty straight forward but can anyone explain to me how to change the wiper blades?

I've been neglecting my Colt alot this past year. I really want to get her running right. Anyone know of a good engine/tranny that could go in there?

engine code is G63B(code for a SOHC 4G63), the only engine that mitsubishi offered in the Colt Vista in North America. i believe it states this code on the plate in the engine bay. while facing the front of the vehicle, the plate should be on the left hand side under the hood on the firewall....if i remember right.

as for the wipers, if you look at the end of the wiper arm, you should see a little tab that you can press in. just press on it and pull the pin out of the arm.

and the last question, the 4G63T/5-speed swap HAS been done, but it hasn't really been documented much. saw one for sale on E-bay a couple years ago with the swap done, and there's a fellow on CarDomain in New Zealand who swapped one in place of his carbureted 1.8.

Thanks bro. I have a Mazdaspeed Protege that I was going to begin heavily modding but it's been done. So I figure, it's working. It runs. It's reliable. So I am shifting all my attention to the Colt.

Could you or someone else please explain to me the difference in a 6 bolt v. a 7 bolt? I know absolutely nothing about Mitsu's (obviously if changing the wiper is a task).
