Hey all. I am new to this forum but I own a cherry 1987 Dodge Colt Vista "Microvan." It was my grandmothers and when she passed away, it was given to me. I am the second owner (my g-ma being number one). It has 101K miles on it. I want to keep it mint and original but however I have a Mazdaspeed Protege and I figured I will keep that one stock and mint and work on my Colt. So basically, where do I start? Here is a list of things I plan to do and maybe some of you can steer me in the right direction.

Potential mods with nowhere to go.

-Definately swap from automatic to 5 speed tranny.
-Definately needs better engine, possible swap to a 4g63?
-Definately stop saying "definately."
-Lower stance. (My bro works at KYB which helps).
-Turbo forced induction with front mount intercooler.
-Weight reduction.

So any help would be helpful here.

in theory, you should be able to just pull your engine and drop the DOHC 4G63T into your car(need wiring harness, fuel pump, ECU, transmission, etc). the engine should be a direct bolt in though since the stock engine is a SOHC 4G63.

I saw an AWD version at the wreckers with a SOHC 4g63 manual. They have tons of room inside. I like the rims old school steelies with rings.

Your's is very clean, swap it!

Thanks to all. I appreciate the compliments. She is clean on the outside minus the black area turned white. Big deal. The engine is not so great and NEEDS to be swapped. It will soon enough. Steelies stay. What kind of swap would work here? Also, no AWD unfortunately. If someone wants an AWD of this EXACT car, there is one for sale about 5 miles from my house in Braselton (home of Road Atlanta, Panoz, and YearOne.) It's two tone white/beige. Lastly, here is a few more pics.

Interior soon to come... when the snow melts.

TheDirtyGoatee: Would you check out that AWD Colt Vista for me?

Thank you!

Yeah sure. I called the people about it because I was interested but then again I don't have the money. I think they are only asking 1500 and I see it from the road and it looks immaculate. It's on Craigslist Atlanta. But I will try to go by there sometime soon. I'll try to send you a PM with more info. I'll try to get them to start it up and everything. I recall the lady telling me it runs perfectly but it's just not needed.
