xxxmonoxidechild. did you compare the port sizes on the IM and the head. I'm wondering if I'll have to port the head out..?
The TBI to MPI stuff started
here. I think I will continue to post info on that in this thread. (BTW I saw your bump there xxxmonoxidechild). I am planing on using the 4g63t ecu/maf/injectors on my g32b. Basically transplanting all the engine managment from a MPI motor into a TBI motor.
I'll begin with the wiring. Its basically what one would do when performing a 4g63t swap. Grab the motor wiring harness from a DSM and put it into a C12/13, its been done and documented. Once the harness is in collect and use a DSM's sensors.
Basically take all the sensor from a 4g63. The CAS/TDCS will be taken care of by a SOHC 4g63/4 dizzy; it fits the g32b head. A 4g15 dizzy from the 8v engine would also work.
The 4g63t TB has the needed IAC/MPS/TPS. Coolant temps sensors are the same. The knock sensor comes on a g32b.
Injectors, the blue ones are pretty common and match the MAF and ECU. The bodies on a 4g37 injector is longer than the 440 blue injectors. I dont know if this will cause any issues.
O/2.... not much to say.
MAF, as DSM one fits the c10s air filter canister. Just need to use backing cover.
That's all I can think of now. I've got it all, even a spare 4g63... I'm using public transit to commute more now to a new job and my wife drives a WRX that I borrow
. I will hopefully start the wiring harness next week....
[edit] I thought of more. The 4g37 fuel rail, get it too and the fuel lines. Also grab a fuel pressure regulator from a 4g63t it fits the 4g37 fuel rail. I haven't thought about the fuel pump....... I need to find out more info on this........ some1 help me out!
[edit2] There is a fuel pressure release solenoid on a 4g63t. I read up on it but forgot why its there. Something to do with hot engine startups.... This should probably be used as well. Also, the boost control solenoid, I don't think the ecu like running without it so it should be included in the the swap.
Lucky for us we are using the full engine harness from a 92 awd, all the connectors are there.
Save me some
