looking at what it would take to do some swapping. I have the 84 turbo and an 92 laser RS AWD to work with. I would probably keep these as is and get some doners to do the project with. I would like to know if any one has heard of this being done and the possiblity, I could get some insight to the obsticles. I would really love to go all the way to AWD chassis surgery if I knew that the engine/transaxle swap concept had been achieved.

Why oh why are people ruining the 84 colt turbos like this? Do you have any idea how rare your car is? I have been half-seriously looking for one for the past three years and have only found 4 for sale, two of which were almost junk. Perhaps you can get a non turbo model and do the swap. You'd be much better off fixing up the 84 turbo or selling it to some moron like me. Those cars are almost extinct, please don't contribute to their demise.
