Hello, I am new to this group, but am glad to find a place where there are people as enthusiatic about these little turbo cars as I am . My question is , what rims and tires has everyone found to work well on these cars. It looks like I might be getting a black 88 turbo, and it is going to need tires right away. Also, does anyone have or know of an upgraded turbo setup for this car. I checked the previous posts and saw that there were various combinations that people have used: t-25, 14b, and a modified stock turbo similar to the 3000gt turbo which is what I am most interested in. I appreciate any info that I can get.

For rims, well, the colts use an oddball rim, 114mm x4 bolt pattern, and the offset is different than on many other cars, plus the bolts on the rotor sometimes get in the way of new rims, so you would need a wheel spacer or drill out the new rims to suit our hubs.

As for turbo upgrade, honestly, the easiest thing to do is pick a turbo , and then build a custom manifold to suit, Now i said easiest, not cheapest.

Im gonna try to make an adaptor plate for a 14b to stock manifold over the summertime while the car sits till winter.

Welcome to the club.

FYI Volvo S40s/V40s have the same stuf pattern and offset.

I have these tires on my Miata and am quite pleased with them. Should do well on any light car.
