Hello all-

Let's see... Well, back in 1989 I bought my first new car, and it was a black Plymouth Colt GT! Loved that car, and I can say that it was the most fun car I ever owned. I cannot say it was the most reliable car I ever owned, but nothing is perfect, right?

The car was so cool... way cooler than I was, I guess. Previous to that car I had owned a '68 bug, a '74 Karmann Ghia, a Chevy van, so yeah, the Colt was the standout car.

As for reliability, the turbo blew a seal early on (covered under warranty), and 15 miles past the warranty period (36K miles I think it was), the timing belt let go. Fortunately Mitsubishi agreed to cover it, but it sat at the dealership for maybe 6 weeks before they got a new head in. Then at about 65K miles the turbo again blew a seal, that time I sent it out for rebuild, and the last big event was the evening I went to pick up the car in a Manhattan valet parking garage and was informed that the car would not start. Timing belt again, at ~80K miles. I needed transportation so had the car towed home and the next day I bought a Dodge Neon. What a letdown that piece of crap was. The Colt sat in my garage for a couple years until I gave it to the son of one of my workmates, and so it passed out of my life.

But I never forgot it, and I just now found two photos of the car. Steel wheels which I did not remember.
