after driving 3 hours each way, one $146 speeding ticket(doing 87 in a 65 but i was going with the traffic) and having to deal with my wife in the passenger side for the entire ride time. i gat a what i think is clean example of a 1992 colt gl. i bought it off the second owner who was gonna swap it but never did its been sitting since february supposedly. i have the original window sticker and owners manual. inside there is no half assery everything is as it came from the factory just dirty really dirty. engine is a whole nother story the lower timing gear is shot. its supposed to have 2 round parts and flat spots the flat spots are almost completely rounded. its a junkyard engine that they put in the car but someone used the wrong crank shaft pulley center bolt. which was not doing its job holding the pulley flat to the crank or tight. in time wore out the lower timing sprocket so now i cannot put it correctly time the engine.after cutting about 3/8 off the bolt put it back to try it out. i did manage to get it to start by lining it up best i could by eye.its runs but not great but its a step forward the first owner did a tune up and fuel pump before he sold it.sound like a walbro its noisy.but i bought this car to swap later on while enjoying the gas sipping attribute.
after a self service car wash
thinking of upgrading brakes to expo knuckles since i have to do brakes anyway any help and guidance appreciated alsoneed middle crank pulley bolt and the plate that goes behind the timing gear if you have one let me know please
