I'm digging the paint job on that Colt but the hood HAS to go, along with those 3 spoke rims. That speaker box needs skinned and I definitely would swap in a full turbo interior and throw a 61 or 63t under the hood. I hate autos but with the amount of wheelspin that I got I'd be willing to try one.
My Colt was so much more mild and vibrated so much less when it had the 61t with a s16g. It was just as driveable with the 63t but it felt like it almost had too much power for a FWD application and it was too harsh at idle without the balance shafts. When I had it on the dyno it threw out 308 HP to the wheels at 16 psi on that 19c turbo and it was fast but it felt scary in that little car. With the 61t even at waste gate pressure it was fast and felt a lot more safe than when I was racing that 2011 GS Vette and was doing 140. The funny thing was that the car felt like Jeckyl and Hyde. If you stayed out of the turbo it would just cruise right along and still give me damn near 30 MPG but as soon as you went any more than half throttle the front end would lift up and before you knew it you've got smoke rolling past your window and your speedo's climbing.
What am I saying? Too much power? Am I sick?
Did your colt have poly engine and tranny mounts? Some of the cars I've had (not colts, or mirages) with balance shaft delete and poly mounts would rattle the teeth out of your head.
It seems like a lot of guys are making really good power with the 61t.
I'm excited about learning, thanks for the reply!
