Has anyone ever cosidered a 5 lug conversion on the van?

I did when I had mine. Always thought a set of 92-94 talon swirlies would have looked good on it. Mine was FWD though so I could have pressed in DSM hubs up front and just re-drilled the rears since they're round and there's enough material there to do it. Not sure if you could re-drill the awd rear hubs or not.

I suspected that 1G DSM front hubs would press in, but I wasn't sure. That is good to know.

Rears have plenty of room to be redrilled, the only problem is that would have liked to convert them to discs, I would hate to invest anymore money into the drum setup :)

Just toss on some 1g dsm rear rotors and fab a bracket to hold a dsm caliper. Wouldn't be hard to do at all. I remember test fitting a 1g rear rotor on mine and it fit perfect.

2g stuff would work too but then you have to worry about the e-brake being in the rotor hat. As you know, it's part of the caliper on the 1g.

I do not feel like undergoing the disc swap right now (unless I find actual van parts). But the drum hub is bigger and would have to be turned down in order to work with disc brakes.

Hmm, thought I had checked into this before and the actual hub was the same between the disc and drum on the AWD models. Do you have any pics of the difference or have you ever had the drums off?

Does anyone know if 2011 Outlander rear hub assembly will bolt up to our vans?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-Brand-NEW-Rea ... X-&vxp=mtr

BTW, that is the same part used in EVOX.

It "looks" like it could work.... And if it does, I will open up a whole new world of rear disc brake upgrades!

see if there is one locally and see if it matches up in the rear. If not then return it. Looks like a great idea.

I checked with Advance Auto and it is a custom order part for $170!!! I am not sure if they would want me to return it. Does anyone work at similar store or has connections to test it out?

One part that appears to be clear, the new part is screwed INTO the hub (like 2G DSMs), where as, I am pretty sure that Expo parts are screwed into the control arm.

It's been a while since I pulled those awd rear hubs for Rono but I don't remember them looking anything like that. Seems I remember them pressing in and just the rear disc backing plate bolting on with 4 bolts.

Do you have a FSM? If not I can grab some pics and scan them in mine.

Jerry beat me to it  .

FSM SUCKS when it come to this detail. I have a badly corroded rear sub-frame and it appears to have this type of a bearing. I will take some photos tonight.

Getting back to this topic... Does anyone have rear discs? Can you please take some photos of hubs/spindles (with discs removed)?

I was able to find the rear hub assembly:

So there is an extra snap ring that isn't there on DSM bearings.
