I have a 1992 Mitubishi Expo and all my motor mounts are shot. I wanted to know if the mounts are similar/same as a 1G DSM, because I was gonna replace them all with polyurethane mounts. Does anyone know? They "look" similar. Thanks!!

The transmission mount is the same as a 1g dsm. The rear mount looks more like one from a 3g csm though. I have no idea about the front or the t-belt one. The few 92's that I've seen at the junkyard had a solid cast t-belt mount with no rubber at all on it.

On my 92 i used all of the vans motor mounts but the trans is definitely the same and so is the timing belt side, not sure about the others working

I was gonna go poly in my car but found out I would have to buy and mix two different kits, so I got a $20 tube of windows weld and filled them myself. Worked awesome.

Okay....this sounds like the way I wanna go...but what is windows weld? And where do you get it? This isn't a fancy super horsepower project, I just want the motor to sit still! Thanks!

You get it from Napa or most any auto parts store. Its the adhesive they use to seal winshields and once it cures its pretty hard. I would use the two part stuff from McMaster Carr for a cleaner look. You melt the rubber out of your current mounts and reuse the metal sleeve in the middle by cleaning it up with a wire brush. Once the stuff sets up you can drill a hole in in and press the metal sleeve in.

+1 for Window Weld. the cheapeast and easiest solution. i actually used it on 1 mount which i think i posted pics of in my build thread. i had originally an aftermarket mount but it was just as flimsy as my stock mount that was cracking. i didnt need a whole tube so went to a window place and they hooked it up for the price of a six pack. =) let it cure for as long as you can (id say at least 24-48 hours) because it will take time to harden all the way through.
