I have a Summit 2.4 AWD (auto) I've got about 800lbs worth of stuff in the van but I also need to transport more, I'm considering a 5x8 trailer from U Haul. Can I put another 700lbs or so in the trailer?
I don't know much about towing so I would appreciate any input you all have.
Thanks

Passenger weight is one thing. Figure 5 guys at 200 lns is a thousand pounds, plus baggage puts you around 1500.

The trailer I would worry about some. Those little uhauls are heavy mofos, with a big transmission cooler, it might be very doable though.

What is factory tow rating?

I'd personally be scared to tow much. Seems most of these with auto transmissions give out on their own at some point.
