Don't forget to change the oil in both the engine and tranny. Coolant is a good idea too.
As with any car, check the steering/suspension too.
- Jack up one of the front wheels so it is off the ground. (Insert obvious safety disclaimer here)
Sit on the side of the car facing it and grab the top and bottom of the wheel and try to pull the top towards you while pushing the bottom away (and vice versa). If it wiggles, you need new ball joints.
Now grab the front and back side of the tire and try again. If it wiggles back and forth you need new tie rod ends. Now the exception with this one is if you are really trying hard to move it you will be flexing the tire on the other side of the car so you will get a little bit of wiggle. You are mainly looking for "slop" in the steering.
Repeat on the other side.
One more thing, if it is made of rubber INSPECT IT. Coolant lines, Intake lines, CV Joint boots etc.
It doesn't hurt to replace things to get it all at a known state (well, it can hurt the wallet and sometimes the knuckles
