The G32b motor is a 1.6L l4 sohc 8 valve motor. It was derived from the first generation 4g63 motors when they used 8 valve heads. The injection on the g32b motors was a throttly body type( a mix between carb and direct injection) just like the Mitsubishi Starion's fuel injection.

The 1983-84 colts are the rarest to find with the g32b motor, they came with a twin stick gear box, a high and low gear selector, and a 4 spd gear box. It also used a non-watercooled turbo. It was the first generation colt manufactured by Mitsubishi. 1980-1984.

In 1985, the 2nd generation of colt was introduced, and very limited numbers of turbo models were made, they also introduced a turbo sedan with the g32b motor. The transmission was changed over to a cable clutch 5 spd gearbox, and the motor was continued on thru to 1986 Still using a non-watercooled turbo(TC04) The 1985-86 hatchback models came with a simple skirt package which was dropped in 1987.

In 1987, Mitsubisi kept the same 2gen bodystyle, but made some cosmetic changes. The front headlights were swapped from sealed beam units to h4 type units, the front grill was changed too, along with the front fenders, the sidemarder were made smaller and more appealing. They dropped the skirt/groundeffects package, but introduced turbine style directional aluminum 14" rims, replacing the old 14" turbo steel rim. The interior remained the same except for the center console.

The motor was refined a little bit with a change in the secondary injector, they now use a 480cc and a 1050cc. The turbo was swapped for a watercooled TD04-9b, and the transmission was beffed up a little and was a hydraulic clutch type. These 2nd gen colts are the ones I am more familiar with, if anyone has more info on the 1gen turbos, please contribute. The later 2gen turbo models had 124 flywheel hp and approx. 130ish tq. Stock 1/4 mile being 16.5.
