I disconnected the endlinks for the side im changing, should I try and disconnect the passenger side as well? I cant press the swaybar down by myself and install the bushing, thinking that might make it a little easier by releaving some tension...

Just an fyi, purchased a hyundai elantra sway bar for 92-95 year, and am going to pick up some endlinks and would like to try and get some upgraded bushings for that.

Also bought Energy suspension bushings for the frame for the elantra sway barbut not sure if they will fit on my C52 chassis or not... they look like they wont. Ill take some pics tomorrow.

If that is the stock bar, get the Elantra bar in their because it is the single best handling upgrade that I've ever bolted onto a C52a chassis.
Trust me.
whats the difference?
my engine is out and there is a 94 elantra at the junkyard i just spent the better part of the afternoon swiping the control arms out of. should i get the swaybar too?

sorry to go off topic... kinda

Stock CSM C52a anti roll bar is 18mm and solid, the turbocharged (Elantra model too) C53a bar is 21?mm and hollow. Hollow gets you much more surface area, both on the outside and the inside, and as such will give you more rigidity. You have to use the Turbo style endlinks (I think Suzuki Swift bits and 1G Talon bits fit too but confirm the dimensions in a cross reference catalogue listing).
The Elantra got the same bits that the turbo cars did in many respects.

More pics!

Stock 1.5 sway bar on bottom, Elantra/Turbo CSM 1.6 sway bar on top

Notice the difference in endlinks! Stock 1.5 endlinks on top, Elantra/Turbo CSM 1.6 end links on bottom

Stock 1.5 rubber bushing mount meets frame, all nice and dandy...

I feel your pain. I also ordered the energy suspension sway bar bushings from a part # that someone listed on this site. There's no way in hell that i can get these to work. Too tall, too wide, too big. I thought of cutting them down to fit..... but that's gonna make for one ugly bushing. My suggestion is buying some stock 1.5 swaybar bushings and forcing them on using lots of vasoline. Can i get a refund from the guy that posted the wrong part #?

you should just buy the superpro swaybar bushing, it should fit good, many others have used it

won't it fit even if you bend the and tabs to conform to the shape?

Where is the part number listed that you guys used, so we can edit it out, or revise it with the proper numbers? I will change the archives if someone can PM the thread link. This thread deserves a space in the archives. stealthtt24, can you upload the photos and create new links to keep them active, but use the www.gallery.4g61t.org or www.galantvr4.org (gallery upload)? This thread has answered alot of questions that unless people have seen this issue before, we keep having to post links in all the threads that keep popping up. It would be nice to just be able to tell people that they can just find this thread in the suspension archive section. 8)
